5 sweet ways to celebrate valentine’s day

  1. Cinnamon roll heart waffles: You can get the waffle maker here. Buy a tube of cinnamon roll waffles from the store. You could also make your own but who has time for that?? Spray waffle maker with some cooking oil spray + place a cinnamon roll right in. The one tip I have to make sure your waffles don’t turn into blobs is to flatten and shape them into hearts with your hands before placing them in the waffle maker. Drizzle with the icing or cover in powdered sugar. That’s it! SO good.

2. Heart shaped pizza: We’ve been ordering Papa Murphy’s heart shaped pizzas every year since Kennedy was born. After kids, a big Valentine’s dinner is not happening + this year, even if you don’t have kids, this is a great option since we’re all stuck at home anyways! You could also make a heart shaped pizza yourself. My kids would think that was SO fun but I can only do one messy project a day so cinnamon roll waffles are it for me hahaha. My very favorite homemade dough recipe you can get here. Scroll all the way down, the dough recipe is at the bottom. It’s so easy + super good but seriously, two words: Papa Murphy’s.

3. Love letter garland: You can find my how-to HERE. This little craft project was so easy + fun to make. It’s a cute garland until Valentine’s Day when your loved one(s) open each letter that contain a reason you love about them. You can do this for anyone, but it make’s Valentine’s Day extra special for little ones. :)

4. Coffee heart shaped ice cubes: You’ll need a heart shaped ice mold. The one I used is sold out until after Valentine’s day but I also have another one that works just as well, you can get it here. I used espresso shots and poured them right into the molds + froze ‘em. One espresso shot filled about 4 of my hearts (the mold I used was bigger than the one linked) so I used around 8 ice cubes for my drink. If using coffee opposed to espresso shots, you’ll need more ice cubes per drink, maybe 10 or 12. Specially if your ice cubes are smaller than mine! Then just pour your milk of choice right over it.! They do take time to melt but they melt so pretty + Valentine’s is on a Sunday this year so you should be having brunch + laying around anyways ;) Another idea that would be really fun is to make orange juice ice cubes and pop them in some champagne! Valentine’s Mimosas!!!

5. Chocolate box game: Buy a huge chocolate box from the store. Take turns closing your eyes + taking a bite of a piece of chocolate. Then you guess which you just bit into it! It sounds easy + like you would automatically know but you’d be surprised how much your tastebuds trick you, haha! Also, that’s why you have to get a large one so there’s a lot of different + unique kinds of chocolates + fillings. I know it’s silly but it is fun! For kids + adults.
